Common Chuckwalla

The Common Chuckwalla is widespread across the desert provinces of southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico. Within the Atlas region, this species occurs throughout the desert regions of Riverside, San Diego, and Imperial counties in the United States and southward along the Baja California peninsula to the vicinity of La Paz. It is known from Islas Ballena, El Coyote, Espíritu Santo, Gallo, Pardo, Partida Sur, San Cosme, San Diego, San Francisco, San José, San Marcos, Santa Cruz, and Willard in the Gulf of California.
